Hotel Near Heathrow Airport

How A Hotel Near Heathrow Airport Could Save A Lot Of Time And Money

If you have ever flown from Heathrow Airport you will know what a task it can be to make sure you get there on time. I can remember having to get up at 1am after just an hour or so of sleep on one occasion, just to make sure I got there in time to check in for my early morning flight! It wasn’t exactly the best start to the day.

That’s why I ended up staying in a hotel near Heathrow Airport the next time I had a seat booked on one of the first flights of the day. It made such a difference I would do it again the next time I need to fly out of London too.

So what makes it such a good idea to stay in a hotel near Heathrow Airport when you could just travel there straight from home?

Well first of all you are nice and close to the airport when you start your day. And if you end up having a horrendously early flight like I did, you’ll appreciate being able to stay in bed a lot longer! Checking in can be a long drawn out and frustrating affair at times, and when I tried going through that process after getting barely any sleep at all, I really found it hard going.

But it wasn’t just the sleep aspect that made staying in a hotel near Heathrow Airport a good bet. I also found I was protected from the consequences of any potential travel problems. I was so close to the airport that I didn’t have to worry about any traffic jams on the motorway – I’d already done that part of the journey the day before. I’ve always been lucky and managed to avoid most of the bad traffic jams but I know a lot of other people haven’t been so lucky and have even missed their flights on some occasions.

You can also look forward to taking advantage of a nice cooked meal the night before your flight when you stay in a hotel near Heathrow Airport. Once I’d arrived at my choice of hotel – a lovely family run affair called the Cranleigh Hotel in Ealing – I asked their advice about the best places to go for a bite to eat locally. Instead of wasting time wandering around trying to find somewhere myself, they were able to steer me in the right direction straightaway.

So yes you can save yourself a lot of time when you decide to stay in a hotel near Heathrow Airport the night before you fly out, whether it’s for a business trip or a holiday. But you can also save money by looking for smaller family run hotels instead of opting for the big name ones. The service and the rooms are just as nice and they will usually arrange for a taxi for you as well if you should need one.

Having experienced the difference that choosing a hotel near Heathrow Airport can make, I’d never try driving to the airport straight from home in the early hours of the morning again. Simply being able to arrive feeling refreshed and ready for the journey ahead, even though it is still early in the day, makes all the difference for me. When I drove straight there from home I felt stressed before I had even set foot in the airport.
