If you have ever flown from Heathrow Airport you will know what a task it can be to make sure you get there on time. I can remember having to get up at 1am after just an hour or so of sleep on one occasion, just to make sure I got there in time to check in for my early morning flight! It wasn’t exactly the best start to the day.

But you can also save money by looking for smaller family run hotels instead of opting for the big name ones. The service and the rooms are just as nice and they will usually arrange for a taxi for you as well if you should need one.
Having experienced the difference that choosing a hotel near Heathrow Airport can make, I’d never try driving to the airport straight from home in the early hours of the morning again. Simply being able to arrive feeling refreshed and ready for the journey ahead, even though it is still early in the day, makes all the difference for me. When I drove straight there from home I felt stressed before I had even set foot in the airport.
